Hair Removal
You can throw away those razors, waxes, tweezers, and hair removal creams! Laser treatments permanently remove unwanted hair from any part of the body for all skin types. Frequently requested treatment areas include: the upper lip, chin, underarms, legs, bikini line, and back.
Laser Treatments Are Quick With Good Results
This method of hair removal is quick and precise without damage to the surrounding skin. The laser emits a gentle beam of energy that passes through the skin and into a hair follicle. The energy is then transformed into heat which damages the hair follicle, effectively treating the unwanted hair and leaving the surrounding skin protected and unchanged.
Treatments Target Unwanted Hair
Nearly everyone is a candidate for this type of hair removal. The most dramatic results occur for patients with darker, finer hair, but patients with darker skin and light hair also have good results. The number of treatments required for each area depends upon your skin and hair characteristics, but most areas require at least three treatments.
Every hair on your body has three phases, or cycles, of growth. The hair you can see on the skin surface is either in its active growth cycle and is still attached to the hair follicle, or it is in its inactive phase where it has already separated from the follicle.
The laser targets the hair you can see and will remove both the active and inactive hairs. Because the laser destroys the hair follicle beneath the skin, hair in an active growth cycle will not grow back. However, beneath the surface of the skin are dormant hair follicles, and intact inactive follicles that have not entered a growth phase. This is why repeated sessions are necessary to treat the follicles when they enter the growth phase.

Protect Your Skin After Treatment
To achieve the best results, do not wax, pluck, or have electrolysis for at least four weeks prior to treatment or between laser treatments. During the procedure, you will be required to wear safety eyewear to protect your eyes from the reflections of laser light. When the pulse is delivered from the laser hand piece, patients can sometimes experience a mild pinching or stinging sensation, however, it is quickly relieved.
After treatment, a cool compress and moisturizing lotion is applied. The treated area may appear a bit red so be sure to apply lotion twice daily to treated areas until healing is complete. To protect your skin, treated areas should be guarded from direct exposure to sunlight, however, if this is not possible, a sunscreen with an SPF value of 30 or higher should be used at all times on the treated areas.
